A Box 15 crew responded with personnel from the Central Ohio Strike Team (Region 4/State of Ohio/USAR) late Thursday evening, September 16, after Athens County Ohio officials requested assistance from COST following severe storms and possible tornadoes that came through that area earlier in the evening. Thirty-two (32) rescue technicians and associated COST response vehicles left Columbus around 21:30 hours for the approximate 90 minute drive to The Plains, Ohio site in Athens County. Search and rescue operations by the Strike Team were completed just before 02:00 hours Friday morning. Response personnel were then demobilized, including Box 15, and began the 70+ mile return trip to Columbus Ohio. While providing rehab support within the staging area, Box 15 expended 4 cases of chilled water, 2 gallons of hot coffee in addition to nearly 100 granola bars. Rehab Unit 2 and crew arrived back in Columbus just before 04:00 hours Friday morning September 17.
