Giving back!

Box 15 has been blessed with the financial support of the firefighting community for many years and we sincerely appreciate their backing.  But, in addition to providing on-scene incident support, we also try to be a good citizen by participating in different events – both in service and financially.

Among these, we assist at stair climb challenges hosted by the American Lung Association and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  We also contribute to the Ohio Arson School, National Fallen Firefighters, Stefanie Spielman Fund and we are there to assist the Military Veterans Assn. with the Veteran’s Day parade.

Most recently, we’ve partnered with the Fire Fighters Cancer Foundation through participation in fund raising efforts.  These include introduction of a “Firefighter Cancer” shirt design and assisting with a cornhole tournament during the Ohio Fire & EMS Expo.  Together, we raised several thousand dollars to assist the families of local firefighters who have been dealing with cancer.

The shirts are for sale to the public, through our on-line store.

Box 15 upgrades equipment to improve operations

In an effort to modernize the Box 15 fleet, we have recently installed iPads in two of our vehicles.  The iPads will allow us to enter Run Reports immediately, process credit card apparel sales via the Square Register app and by using Active 911, we now have CAD based dispatching capabilities that can be used by any Agency to call us out.  Active 911 allows us to be instantly notified; we can mark “responding” and view the location of other members that use Active 911, and get voice-based turn-by-turn directions to the incident scene.  Additionally, using a messaging app, we are able to reduce radio traffic by sending text messages to other members.

Dry-Fit shirts have arrived!

We now have a stock of the performance fabric tees - aka "dry-fit".  You can order them through our web store - look for "PT Wear" or send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Happy Labor Day

Box 15's Rehab Unit 1 was among the fire apparatus in the Pickerington Labor Day Parade today. The beautiful weather for the last official day of Summer drew a large crowd.                      Top photo By Box 15 member Mory Fuhrmann - Bottom photo by Firefighter  Dan Gilmore

Norwich Township Firefighters Auxiliary disbands

Box 15 had a surprise visit during our training meeting on August 26.  Long-time Norwich Township Fire Chief Dave Long (now retired) and his wife dropped in for a brief visit and to bring us a gift.  The Norwich Township Firefighters Auxiliary has disbanded and they presented us with a check – the amount remaining from their operating funds.  We sincerely appreciate their generosity.  We’ve teamed up with the Auxiliary on several major incidents over the years and they have always been a pleasure to work with.  We wish them well in their “retirement” and will do everything in our power to maintain the standard of service that they had established.
